About McKie Mastery Power Phonics
Power Phonics is a DfE validated reading, writing and spelling programme, created for pupils who struggle the most. Founded by Claire McKie, an experienced SEND teacher in high deprivation, in managing National Research into Early Reading and the Founder of all McKie Mastery Power Teaching programmes - implemented in schools nationally, since 2015. The unique power phonics code has been created to aid retention, build-in continual over-learning and use research-based and quality-first teaching methods, with ease. The books engage all ages and are not ‘phonics-looking’ to motivate all pupils including in Primary, Juniors, SEND Providers, Secondary and Further Education.
The Initial One Day Training is provided to all SEND settings free of charge and DfE funding is available to buy any Power Phonics materials. All staff including all support staff -regardless of previous experience in phonics teaching – are trained with ease to deliver each daily script with fidelity and consistency, in any context. All schools who have implemented Power Phonics have improved all reading outcomes, results include Top 2% in England and all schools have improved OFSTED inspection rating – up at least one category- without exception.
